Experience the Haven magic!  The Haven is an immersive sanctuary for writers and other creatives, a retreat where you will be nurtured and inspired while you focus on your writing.  From our exceptional gardens and grounds,  to our book, art and light filled residence with private retreat wing, we have designed the ideal atmosphere for creative work,

The Haven is a serene oasis that hosts 1-2 writers at one time, in order to offer a customized retreat experience. Both emerging and established writers are welcome.  When you step out of your daily life and give yourself the time and space for your work, you make room for magic, and your writing will flow. You create your own perfect retreat experience.

We are on hand, if needed,  to facilitate a breakthrough with individual hypnosis, energy healing, and other sessions.  For more information, or to book your stay, call Lisa at 860-985-1682.

There are several options for visiting the Haven.  Come for daylong non-residential writing retreat, or stay overnight for two nights or up to a week or more.

Our large bedrooms are well equipped for writing and relaxing, and there are many comfortable and inviting places to write throughout the house and grounds.  Books are everywhere!

In warmer weather, our huge deck overlooking the main Japanese style garden is simply magic; in the winter our heated sunporch overlooking the garden and our attached greenhouse brings the green of summer inside.

The Berkshires have long been a mecca for artists and writers. We're less than a mile from Arrowhead, the home where Herman Melville wrote Moby Dick, and close to Edith Wharton's estate, "The Mount." Both sites are now museums open from Memorial Day to Veteran's Day. Theater, music (Tanglewood is less than 15 minutes away), and museums abound. Kripalu Center is also nearby.

The Berkshire Writers Haven is centrally located in the Berkshires with easy access to the Audubon Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary scenic trails, and all that the vibrant Berkshire area has to offer.

Public Transit: We're located in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains, approximately a 3 hour drive north of Manhattan. The Pittsfield bus station is 10 minutes away, and  we're happy to pick you up by prior arrangement. Uber, Lyft, and cabs are locally available.

The bud
stands for all things,
even for those things that don’t flower,
for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary
to reteach a thing its loveliness,
to put a hand on its brow
of the flower
and retell it in words and in touch
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing
